Everything you need to know about BlinkURLs. Search for answers or browse categories below.

General

BlinkURLs is a modern URL shortening service designed for extreme speed, branding, and growth. We use an Edge-native redirection engine to ensure your links resolve in under 50ms globally.
Yes! Our basic shortening features are free for everyone. For users who need branded links, advanced analytics, and link protection, we offer several paid tiers: Basic, Social, Marketer, and Enterprise.
By default, free links do not expire. However, paid tier users (Basic and above) have the option to set custom expiration dates and times for their links.

Account & Subscriptions

Paid users unlock custom aliases (branded links), deep geographic and device analytics, password-protected links, custom expiration dates, and priority support. Higher tiers like Social and Marketer include features like Dynamic QR codes, A/B testing, and Retargeting Pixels.
You can manage your subscription directly from the 'Billing' section in your dashboard. Payments are handled securely via PayPal. Your account will be upgraded immediately after a successful transaction.
Our referral system uses a 'Fair Reward' logic. When you refer a friend, you receive a subscription extension. If you are a free user, you get 30 days of your friend's plan. If you are a premium user, your current high-tier features are extended pro-rata based on the value of your friend's plan, ensuring you never lose your expensive features while being rewarded fairly.
Yes, you can cancel your subscription at any time through your PayPal account's automatic payments settings or the manage button in our billing dashboard. You will retain access to your features until the end of your current billing period.

Branding & Customization

Branded links (e.g., blinkurls.com/my-brand) increase trust and click-through rates. To create one, log in with a paid tier, enter your URL, and type your desired name in the 'Custom Alias' field. Custom aliases must be between 5 and 20 characters and use alphanumeric characters.
Social and Marketer users can customize QR codes with brand colors and logos. After shortening a link, you'll see customization options next to the QR preview. You can pick from preset colors or upload your own square PNG/SVG logo to be centered in the code.
Dynamic QR codes allow you to change the destination URL even after the code is printed or shared. This is a Social tier feature that saves you from reprinting marketing materials if your destination link changes.

Analytics Deep Dive

We track Total Clicks (every time a link is visited), Unique Clicks (one per visitor based on anonymized IDs), Geographic location (Country/City level), Device and Browser types (Mobile vs Desktop), and Referrer data (where the traffic came from, like Twitter or Email).
Marketer users have access to an integrated UTM builder in the shorten form. This allows you to append tags like 'utm_source' and 'utm_campaign' to your long URLs before shortening, making it easy to track the performance of specific marketing campaigns in Google Analytics or our native dashboard.
Yes! Our Edge-native tracking engine processes clicks instantly. You will see new traffic appear in your dashboard within seconds of the link being clicked.

Advanced Marketing

Retargeting pixels (like Facebook Pixel or Google Tag Manager) allow you to build audiences for advertising as people click your links. You can add your pixel IDs in the 'Tags' section of your dashboard, and they will fire silently whenever someone visits your shortened links.
The 'Secure Delivery' mode automatically sets a 24-hour expiration and a password for your link—perfect for sending sensitive docs. 'Client Portals' provide a premium, branded landing page for your links, removing the 'BlinkURL' branding for a more professional look.
Campaign Analytics is a Marketer-tier feature that lets you group multiple links under a single campaign and track them collectively. From the Campaigns dashboard, you can view aggregate click traffic over the last 14 days, financial performance stats (ad spend, ROI, conversion value), top-performing links, and a live health view of every URL in the campaign. To add a link to a campaign, either use the 'Assign to Campaign' dropdown in the link editor, or browse to a filtered campaign view and click 'Create for Campaign'.
The Link Health Guardian silently monitors every destination URL attached to your short links. If a destination becomes unreachable (HTTP 4xx/5xx or connection failure), the link is automatically flagged as 'Broken' in your dashboard with a red indicator. On Social and above plans, you can also set a Fallback URL — if the destination goes down, your visitors are transparently redirected to the fallback instead of seeing an error, ensuring zero traffic loss.

Security & Privacy

When you set a password for a link, anyone who visits it will be prompted to enter that password before being redirected to the destination URL. We use secure hashing to ensure your passwords are never stored in plain text.
Your dashboard and analytics are 100% private. While the shortened public URL is accessible to anyone who has it, they cannot see your destination URL without clicking it (or entering a password if set).
Yes. We do not store personally identifiable information (PII). We use anonymized visitor hashes for tracking, and we never sell your data to third parties. You can read more in our Privacy Policy.
